Waiting
There is little crafting getting done around here.
Here's why-
The cupboards that house all my gear are completely dismantled. Everything that usually has a home in the cupboards is thrown around the room. See in the bottom right, my quilting stuff, 2 finished quilt tops just waiting. The sewing machine is buried under the wrapping paper and gift bags, my knitting supplies are packed up and in the depths of the crawl space. It's like running hurdles to get in and out of the room. This will hopefully be a quick project and it is going to be FABULOUS! when it's done. Stay tuned for the reveal.
Can see the chaos in this picture? I had to tidy up after I took it b/c I couldn't stand it anymore.

We were coloring yesterday and I started sharpening dull crayons and picking out little bits of broken ones. So I threw them into an old muffin tin (I don't use this one for baking it's mostly for paint) and melted them. 350 for a few minutes. They are great! Especially good for Laila because they color any which way, until she puts them in her mouth and they screams when I take them away.

JI'm all in favor of creating chaos to get organized. It's really the only way to go. May the Force be With You.
If I look carefully I can see my nieces in that clutter. It's like "where's Waldo"!xo shel
Good luck with your project.... I love the crayon idea.. I wonder if you could make candles with them too? Or would burning them be toxic?
I love the crayon idea too!!!
Can't wait for the reveal! Love the crayon idea! I will store that one away for a few months...
can't wait to see the reveal! good idea for the crayons!
All that chaos will be worth it I'm sure! Looking forward to the reveal! Fun crayon idea, I used mine for a different project recently. Wax Paper Art. Must be the time of year to use up the old stuff.
I've always said I would do that with crayons (and lipstick) but never seem to get to it. I am officially inspired to do some Crayola-baking with my 3 year old THIS WEEK! Thanks. : )
As for life in the middle of a project that also involves taking everything out of cupboards -- have courage and don't loose any small children. I can't wait to see the final product.
Can you come over to my house and organize my office? I really need help. I have like a gazillon and one crayons and no coloring books or kids who want to color. Got any recycling ideas.
coolest. crayon idea. ever.
I do love a good makeover! The crayons are great, too. I have a love-hate relationship with crayons, actually. There was a bit of a Crayola Incident at our house a few years back. I've never completely recovered.
I remember doing that with crayons bits when my older two were young. It is a neat way to use those broken pieces and as you say colors on all sides.
can't wait to see the end results. love the homemade crayons too!
