So exciting, I forgot a title

Here I am. Lost some blogging steam and I abandoned the Literary lundi thing, it wasn't really fun and I was feeling pressure. (only from myself)

Yesterday Clarabel and I finished up our yarn dying project. Here it is drying in our laundry/utility/furnace room. This time I found some green kool-aid and gave it a try. It was a bit of a bust, the other colors blended with it and made a brown. The brown alone is a nice color, it just doesn't blend with the other bright colors. There is definitely room for some yarn dying improvement. Lettuce Knits has dying workshops and I think that would be great fun, maybe in the spring.

Here they are all wound up. I knit a little swatch up b/c Ken was anxious to see it knit up. These are earmarked for Amanda's squatty sidekick.

Hercules, the concrete man, was by to fix up our porch. He spent much time gluing in little rocks where they had come out and then sprayed it with the sealant. It looks great!! The sealant makes the colors much more vibrant.

Lastly, here is Clarabel's matching toque. It is nearly finished just have to start the decreases.

Tonight is our guild meeting and Maureen Mason-Jamieson is coming to speak to us. I am picking her up at the train and driving her to the meeting. I'll have her undivided attention for an hour, what shall I discuss?? Any ideas? Also this Friday Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton will be at Spun. It is designer week for me!! I am considering a study in alternative ways to hem sweaters, instead of ribbing. I hate ribbing on a sweater, there must be more options.

Oh and I almost forget the most exciting news!!! I have signed up for sewing lessons. I'm not starting until December b/c my mom has to bring me a machine.

Love the little rocks and the knits. I need to take sewing classes too. Or something. I always wanted to be able to make little sun dresses for Lily. See you tonight!!

Wow you are doing so much more Fibery things than me right now. Sigh. Have you tried a Picot edging on a sweater? I've done it on a hat and liked it a lot. PS. The kool-aid yarn looks a lot like mine! Cute!

I'm with you, Haley - I just want to smooch those pink little feet in their heart-y jammies. Not sure how many people feel this way, but tee-tiny kiddy toesies are so adorable, pinky little knobs that they are. Don't they just look DANCE-Y? (Oh, and that yarn is nothing short of delish, could it be the Kool-ade?)
